Jodie Foster wants to give her sons what she never had: a childhood.
As she first started appearing on screen when 3-years-old, work replaced having fun like normal children many times. Playing parts rather than simply playing might not be the best thing for a kid she says, even though fame has fully rewarded her.
Now 43-years-old and a mother of two, Charles, seven, and Kit, four, Jodie has other plans for her kids.
She says: "I grew up being very aware I was different.
That's why I have a psychological need for Charlie and Kit to have normal childhoods.
Just a few weekends ago we spent the whole time with friends who had rented an enormous water slide.
After playing on it all day, my boys were banged-up, plastered with mud and utterly exhausted. They loved it and I loved it.
I look back and I didn't have days like that when I was a child. I was too busy working."
