A weird post appeared on her Facebook profile yesterday

Whoever said that the advertising business had no heart wasn't kidding. Fans of the late comedienne Joan Rivers were outraged yesterday when her still active Facebook profile posted all of a sudden an iPhone 6 promotional message.

Since Joan has been dead since September 4, it was very odd to hear from the comedienne from beyond the grave, let along pushing Apple products. The post was later deleted, but not before fans had a chance to blast whoever wrote it for extremely low morals and bad taste.

Joan River's Facebook page promoted the new iPhone 6 yesterday, despite her having passed away weeks ago

The lengthy post was written to make it seem like it was Joan Rivers herself. While she wasn't explicitly promoting the new iPhone 6, Joan made it sound like she was changing her phone because it was a “great product.”

The entire post read, “This [expletive] is being replaced by an iPhone 6 (not the fat one). I got this one in 2010, and after 4 years, my only complaint is that apps are now designed for bigger screens, and the battery is getting tired. Never had a case for it, since it was the most beautiful on its own. Great achievement in design. Great product.”

The post was accompanied by a photo of the iPhone 5, and it was clearly a post from someone on the Apple team. That certain someone must have not have known that Joan passed away and went ahead with what was most likely a contractual obligation, as part of an understanding between Joan and Apple.

Apple is being blasted by fans for this low marketing move

While Joan probably was a fan of Apple products, the fact that the marketing team chose to go ahead with the promotion, despite the fact that she's been dead for weeks now, is a very low blow from the company.

What is also disturbing is the fact that the people from Apple chose to go ahead with the campaign, despite her death. The fact that the person who posted was not aware Joan had passed away is highly unlikely, since her death has been holding the front page of newspapers and headlines for weeks now.

The world is still coming to terms with the passing of Joan Rivers, hailed as one of the best female comedians of all time, a true trailblazer for those who would come after her. The circumstances of her death are still uncertain and there is an investigation being carried out at the moment by the Health Department.

Melissa Rivers, her daughter, has just confirmed that Joan's show, Fashion Police, is going to go ahead without her, starting next year with the Golden Globes.
