Joan Rivers Criticized for Making Adele Fat Jokes on Letterman – Video

Joan Rivers was on David Letterman shortly after the Oscars 2013 and, as was to be expected, she did have plenty of nasty things to say about the celebrities on the red carpet. Adele was one of them, with Rivers making fat jokes about her.

Rivers started off by saying that she saw “lots of new faces and old bodies” on the red carpet, hinting at Hollywood’s obsession with plastic surgery, of which she too knows a lot about.

She then said her second biggest disappointment of the night (the first one being that Letterman wasn’t there with Brad Pitt) came when she got to meet Adele and she saw with her own eyes how big she was.

Naturally, fans of the singer are already blasting Rivers for being such a loudmouth and a meanie, but there are also those who defend Joan, arguing that she’s only speaking the truth, as painful as it might be.
