14 DAY TRIAL // At the Super Bowl XLV, GoDaddy.co unveiled its new Go Daddy Girl in a 30-second ad that ran in what is believed to be the most expensive advertising time on TV. She’s Joan Rivers and, at 77, she has a body women of 20 would kill for.
The only problem is, according to rumblings online, that it may not be her body after all – and not in the sense that she had lots of plastic surgery, because that much is well known already.
The ad (which you can also see embedded at the end of the article) begins with the two Go Daddy Girls Danica Patrick and Jillian Michaels introducing the new Girl.
As they speak, viewers get only glimpses of the new girl: her ample cleavage, her long legs, her backside, her stunning figure.
Understandably, they’re expecting some glamour model’s name to be called, so imagine their surprise when, at the end of the video, the woman turns and it’s Joan Rivers.
The 77-year-old comedienne smiles at the camera and goes “Is it hot in here or is it me?” and the commercial ends.
Following plenty of speculation that that’s not really Rivers’ body we see in the video, Joan herself is taking matters in her own hands, putting rumors to rest on Twitter.
Useless to say, not many are convinced. The most popular theory seems to be that the body double used is glamour girl Tabitha Taylor, who appeared in some TV shows and movies, but who’s most popular gig so far is that of being a Go Daddy Girl some years ago.
Even if that’s true, don’t expect Rivers to own up to it. Approached by Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush on Twitter, she denies all claims that Go Daddy used a body double for the ad.
It only makes sense, though, since the extended version of the commercial plays a lot on Rivers’ new “body” to match the new domain .co.
“.co is the hottest new domain name, so as the new GoDaddy.co girl, I had to get a hot new body to match! If you wanna look like me all you need is a shake for breakfast, a shake for lunch and extensive surgery for dinner,” she says.
