Taking to the stage, JoJo, known for covering other huge pop stars to amazing results, announced she'd be singing “You Know I'm No Good” from Amy Winehouse.
Anyone in their right mind could scoff at hearing this, but that would mean they never heard JoJo sing.
They say the hardest thing about pulling off an Amy Winehouse cover is achieving the same balance she had between emotion and vocal skill: she wasn't just a good singer, she was also a consummated and passionate one.
JoJo is just that. With her cover of “You Know I'm No Good,” she renders emotion and talent, all the while managing to bring something to the song that makes it hers.
