Highly respected author to teach attendees how to make memorable holiday keepsakes

Apple has announced a “Holiday Keepsakes” workshop with Jim Heid at the San Francisco Store (One Stockton Street). Jim Heid is the author of "The Macintosh iLife '08, a book that offers insight on the applications found within Apple's iLife suite.

Apple encourages San Francisco residents to stop by the Apple Retail Store on Saturday, December 6, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., to hear Jim Heid give a special presentation on “Creating Memorable Holiday Keepsakes.”

Attendees are to learn how to create greeting cards, calendars, and even holiday newsletters with video, in a one-hour workshop of the many ones available at the San Francisco store this week, according to Apple.

iLife is an Apple-developed suite of multimedia applications that are specifically designed for Mac OS X. iLife apps are used to create, organize, view and publish digital content, such as pictures, movies, music, and web pages. iLife '08 includes iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, GarageBand and iWeb, with the whole suite being pre-loaded onto Macintosh computers as part of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.

Those living close by the store on One Stockton Street may also be interested in EA Games' sneak peek at Need for Speed: Undercover and SimCity for iPhone and iPod touch, taking place on December 14, at 2:00 p.m. Apple promises those who plan on attending this event as well that they will be among the first to see the upcoming EA games for iPhone and iPod touch. Best of all, hands-on sessions will also be included, so you'll be able to literally “test-drive” the latest installment in EA's popular racing series (Need for Speed: Undercover) at this special, prerelease event.
