So this is really happening. Talk about a “Dumb and Dumber” sequel has been around for years and, when it finally found a studio to call home, “Dumb and Dumber To” had to relocate because of money issues.

But now it’s finally happening.

The sequel is officially in production, and Jim Carrey, one of the two leading men, is so thrilled about that he can’t stop teasing fans on social media – while promoting his new children’s book, for which he gets extra credit.

“How Roland Rolls comes out TODAY but it may be a little too sophisticated for Lloyd and Harry! Yep... THEY'RE BAAAAAACK!,” the actor writes in a post attached to the photo above.

Over the weekend, Jeff Daniels won his first ever major award, the Emmy for Outstanding Actor in a drama Series for his role in “The Newsroom.”

“We're going to party 'til dawn and then I'm going to get on a plane and go to Atlanta and start shooting Dumb and Dumber To. The intellectual free-fall from [Will] MacAvoy [his ‘Newsroom’ character] to Harry Dunn, imagine if you will,” Daniels joked with reporters.

He also said that, even though he didn’t expect it, writers had managed to come up with a story to the sequel that would blow the original right out of the water.
