Actor Jim Carrey died yesterday, Tuesday January 14, 2014 in a snowboarding accident. Before that, he also died on Sunday, January 12, 2014 of unknown causes. Obviously, both these reports are fake and the actor is yet another victim of that vicious Internet hoax that’s killing off celebrities like flies.

The Sunday death rumor was started by a Facebook page that woefully noted that “our beloved actor Jim Carrey passed away,” promising “he will be missed but not forgotten” and (of course!) asked visitors to “please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting and liking this page.”

We will obviously not be linking it.

The Tuesday death rumor hasn’t been traced back to its source yet but one theory argues that Shia LaBeouf might have had a hand in it, unwillingly more likely.

At the Golden Globes 2014 on Sunday night (when fans were mourning him on Facebook, by the way), Jim took a swipe at Shia for the recent plagiarism scandal he was involved in, joking, “Dying is easy. Comedy is hard. I believe it was Shia LaBeouf who said that. So young, so wise.”

Hours later, the “Transformers” actor had taken to Twitter to vent his frustration at having been made the butt of a joke – Shia was never a man to not take himself seriously.

He attacked Carrey on his parenting skills and his acting career and, as the theory goes, might have also planted the “seeds” for the death rumor.

“If you explain @JimCarrey you've killed him, Nobody knows if it's for real or not. That way he's immortal,” he wrote.

We will probably never know whether this cryptic tweet is what started the death rumor but, one thing is sure: whether Shia was involved in it or not, many fans were devastated to go online and hear that their favorite comedic actor had perished.
