Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, stars of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting reality show, broke their silence on the molestation scandal involving their son Josh in a Fox News interview with Megyn Kelly. They also discussed their plans for the future as regards the TLC program, which is now on indefinite hiatus.

You can see the interview in full below. A large chunk of it is spent explaining what happened in 2002 and 2003, when Josh, their eldest son, was 14 and 15 and he went to them to confess he had molested minor girls, mostly his sisters. His youngest victim was 5.

They also argue that they did their part as parents, which is their explanation for not seeking professional help and / or alerting the authorities. But they also discuss their future with TLC and how they’re being made into targets over something that happened 12 years ago and, as such, should not be held against them.

“At this point, our family is just trying to regroup from these attacks,” Jim Bob says. “I don't know if the rest of our family should be punished for the act of one of our children.”

In other words, should TLC decide to pull the plug on the series, they will have made themselves guilty of punishing the whole family for the “mistake” of one member. TLC might have no other choice but to axe the program since they’ve already lost about 20 major advertisers.

Here it is.
