The Windows Vista Blog has undergone a complete overhauling. And the result? A superb Vista look. "Welcome to the new and improved Windows Vista blog. A few months back, I pushed our team to bring
the blog from the blogging Dark Ages into something a little more modern. The blog back then wasn't quite doing the job. Postings were infrequent, and the site wasn't particularly helpful," wrote Jim Allchin, Co-President of the Platform and Services Division in a post on the revamped Vista Blog.

The Blog's redesign extends deeper than the visual surface. Allchin also revealed that the very engine of the Blog was tunned up in order to gain the ability to deliver new multimedia content with high image handling and video quality. Additionally, the Blog's information was also re-organized to deliver more comprehensive search capabilities. "I hope this helps the community connect with the experience of living and breathing the development process of Windows Vista," said Allchin.

The Co-President of the Platform and Services Division also talked about the Windows Vista visuals incorporated in the redesign. All for the sake of the feedback. "The team's providing great information, and I'm happy to see the comments and feedback from the community through the comments on the site. I read these regularly, as do many others in the Windows leadership team, so please keep the feedback coming," confessed Allchin.

But the Big news here is Allchin admitting that "RTM is not far away, and the team is really thrilled at the prospect of getting the final product out to the world." And this is the actual reason for the overhauling of the Windows Vista Blog. "We're coming to the close of the development cycle for Windows Vista. I've been living with Windows Vista (or "Longhorn") as my primary machine for almost two years now, and I enjoy looking back at how each milestone has brought us closer to the finish line," stated Allchin.
