Jillian Michaels might be the toughest trainer on The Biggest Loser but she doesn’t work with contestants on the premise that all overweight people are unhealthy, as she points out in a new interview with Wendy Williams.

A video of the chat is embedded below, at the end of the article.

The trainer mother of two, who is about to turn 40 soon, has recently admitted in another interview that she hated working out and that, for her too, keeping to a strict workout routine was sometimes as challenging as for regular folks.

She tells Wendy she has her own personal trainer to help her stay on track and work the areas on her body that most need working on. She also admits she’s freaking out over turning 40, because she doesn’t want to think of herself as middle-aged.

Asked if she believes all people overweight are unhealthy, which is something you often hear from other trainers, Jillian offers a firm “no” – but then makes sure to offer proper explanations for her answer.

“The contestants [on The Biggest Loser] are healthy and are still overweight and have weight to lose, but that is… say, they’re actively getting healthy. They’ve changed their diet, and they are exercising. Ultimately, if you’re not practicing healthy habits, it is a time bomb, so to speak,” she says.

So, while an overweight person is probably healthy at one particular moment, chances are they will develop health issues sooner or later if they don’t do something to start living healthier and, implicitly, lose weight.

In the same interview, Jillian also reveals that she has a huge problem area that she will make it her goal to shape up now that she’s 40: her backside.

“I’ve never fully loved [it]. It fits in the clothes nicely. In clothes, I can stuff that sucker into a pair of jeans and you would never know. But out of the jeans it just kinda… falls. I’m trying lunges. My goal for 40 is to not get up and walk away backwards,” she says.

As she puts it, she’s never seen a perfect backside through plastic surgery that looks convincing enough.
