After some Twitter teasing that led to lots of marriage speculation, fitness guru Jillian Michaels has announced that she would be back on “The Biggest Loser” for a new season. This time, the show will serve a more educational purpose.

The other day, Michaels warned her Twitter fans and followers that they should keep an eye out for “an announcement tomorrow on The Today Show in the 8am hour. I think it's gonna make some of you very happy, so don't miss it!”

Video of the interview is below: instead of announcing her impending nuptials to her longtime girlfriend, Jillian confirmed that she’d be back on “The Biggest Loser.”

This new season though would focus on the thorny issue of childhood obesity in an attempt to show kids and parents alike that a healthy lifestyle is what they should be striving for.

“You know, the show has chosen to take on something very controversial. They're going to go after childhood obesity. There are going to be three teenagers on each team,” Jillian explained on The Today show.

“They're not going to be on the ranch, and they're not going to be competing. It's obviously something that needs to be handled with kid gloves, but it's something that needs to be handled,” she added.

It wasn’t just the age of the participants that would change in the new season but, as expected, the way in which the goal was achieved as well.

“The producers of the show have been consulting some of the top experts to help us deal with this in the most delicate and appropriate ways. For example, we won't be saying things to kids like, ‘How much weight did you lose?’ It's about getting them healthy...” the fitness guru explained.

“We won't be getting them on a scale; it's about getting them on a softball team – things like that,” she added.

In the same interview, Michaels also talked about her own kids and how becoming a mother had changed her priorities and perspective on things altogether.

Check it out.
