South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics has been long rumored to plan the release of a unique Windows Phone handset on the market, one that has been designed in collaboration with German designer Jil Sander, and the mobile phone is now official.

The handset was built on the same body that last year's LG Optimus 7 featured, but it also offers a series of unique features, as well as some hardware enhancements.

Moreover, the new device arrives on shelves with the new Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system on board, and offers support for the latest applications and services available for Microsoft's mobile platform.

The new LG device offers a stylish aesthetic, specific to the German designer Jil Sander, with clean lines and nice contrasts.

However, it seems that the new mobile phone is capable to impress not only from a visual perspective, as it also sports hardware capabilities aimed at delivering a great experience to all users.

Thus, we should note that it arrives on shelves with a 3.8-inch touchscreen display that can deliver an 800 x 480 pixel resolution, and that it also packs a 1 GHz application processor inside.

At the same time, the new smartphone features a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for video recording, as well as WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, and more.

In addition to packing the new outer design, the Jil Sander flavor of LG's Windows Phone also comes with a specific application inside, offering users the possibility to easily locate Jil Sander stores or browse clothing.

The new mobile phone is expected to become available for purchase in a series of countries in Europe starting with October 7th, namely in Germany, Austria, Italy, France and the UK. For the time being, no specific details on its availability in other markets around the world have been unveiled.
