Portable speakers are everyday gadgets for the individual who cannot be separated from his or her music listening habits, and that's why zounds of mini speaker models are now available in almost any store or web shop. Even more, new varieties are being designed each week in an attempt to put a happy smile on the face of as much customers as possible. Today it's a good occasion to introduce to you the new iPod accessories from Vestalife, namely the Jewelbvox and the Firefly.

If you're looking for a more stylish gadget to go with your iPod or iPhone, it might prove that these two new thingies are just the right choice.

The Firefly builds on last year's Ladybug iPod dock concept, but takes things a bit further in the realm of stylish design and more friendly shapes. The contraption boasts a new rounded and almost spherical shape, which looks good and provides functionality as well – when the speaker/wings are closed, you can easily store it in your purse or in an even larger pocket, and the gadget will be well protected at the same time.

This new dock is now iPhone compatible (unlike the initial Ladybug), and also has a subwoofer, for a heftier sonic response with more attitude. You get either a rechargeable battery, or an AC adapter powering, a remote control, energy-saving auto-off features, an auxiliary input and touch-sensitive LED volume indicators, A/V output jack and a USB port. The Firefly is scheduled for the CES 2009, and no word on pricing has yet been heard.

The other new gadget from Vestalife is the Jewelbox, a miniature speaker set for your MP3 player, but one that can also behave as a portable iPod dock if you own Apple players. On the specs side, this product is pretty much similar to the Firefly, though it lacks the internal subwoofer and comes in a somewhat more pleasant red nuance. The Jewelbox will be launched at the CES 2009 as well, while no other specs or pricing hints have been provided until now.
