Watch as the once larger than life Jet Star Roller Coaster in Seaside Heights, on the Jersey Shore is getting torn down, only to make way for an improved version reminiscent of the storm that brought it to its knees.

According to the Daily Mail, the Jet Star was damaged during Hurricane Sandy, plummeting into the ocean on October 29.

It will take four days to demolish the structure, a Casino Pier rep describes. Work started at noon on Tuesday, May 14.

“It was good in a way because it brought a lot of attention to Seaside Heights and a lot of people to town, but it’s time,” says Lisa Barna, owner of the neighboring Aztec motel.

The ride will be replaced by summertime with the “Superstorm,” a pendulum in which thrill seekers will be facing each other while being rocked up and down and suspended upside down.
