They never really confirmed being an item, often telling the media that they were just good friends who happened to have many things in common and who, because of it, spent so much time together, but rumors are picking up that Madonna and Jesus Luz are history. According to an item in Sun Times Media, it was the model who decided to call things off, but no explanation for it is given.

Reports about the two dating started to increase a little over a year ago, when Luz became a fixture by Madonna’s side whenever she made public appearances. They had met previously on a shoot for W magazine and, as per insiders, instantly clicked and became practically inseparable. Since then, speculation had it repeatedly that they were considering getting married and even thinking of having a baby.

“While it’s true that Madonna and Jesus Luz, her boytoy of the past year, have gone their separate ways – it not only was totally amicable, but it was Luz who initiated the split. Apparently, the 23-year-old Brazilian realized their age difference (she’s 51) and overall lack of mutual interests nixed a long-term relationship,” the item in the aforementioned publication says. No further details are offered but, should the report prove to be accurate, more on this should emerge in the following days.

In all fairness, as far as public outings go, it’s quite some time that Madonna and Jesus have not been photographed together. Last week, for instance, reports in the US tabloid media said that the legendary singer went on a date with former flame Alex Rodriguez and that there was serious talk between them to give their relationship another try. Then, Luz was photographed holidaying alone, in a context in which he had accompanied Madonna on her vacations.

Come to think of it, in a session for Interview magazine of a couple of weeks ago, Luz made it a point that the interviewer avoided all Madonna-related questions. At the time, it was believed this had to do with his desire to protect their relationship, but perhaps he simply did not want to have to answer questions about the split, it is now being said.
