6,200 Pope Francis medals have been pulled out of circulation

The Vatican has recalled about 6,200 newly issued medals because of an embarrassing typo.

It appears that someone has not checked the main text on the medal for errors and, somehow, "Jesus" has gotten misspelled.

Instead of "Jesus," the text is an ode to our savior, "Lesus."

"Jesus, therefore, saw the publican, and because he saw by having mercy and by choosing, He said to him, 'Follow me'" it reads.

CBS News describes that the medals have been issued for Pope Francis. The phrase, translated from Latin, has inspired the pontiff to join the ranks of the clergy.

The medals were being sold at the Vatican Publishing House in St Peter's Square. 200 of them were issued in gold, 3,000 in silver and another 3,000 in bronze.
