David Bowie has a new video out, for his latest single “The Next Day,” starring Oscar-nominated actress Marion Cotillard and good friend, actor Gary Oldman. It’s already getting a lot of people talking about whether some invisible line has been crossed.

Because of the very graphic nature of the video, I can’t embed it here but you can see it on YouTube. *Please note that discretion is highly recommended because of images that might offend.

Gary Oldman plays a perverted priest who visits a brothel / church (?) looking for paid company. Marion plays one of the girls and she’s every bit as gorgeous as you can imagine.

Bowie himself is Jesus, performing in a corner of the room to the crowd of loose women and disgusting priests.

At one point, Marion falls to her knees and blood starts pouring from the palms of her hands. The next scene sees her “reborn,” pure and clean, with tears streaming down her face, right before “Jesus” vanishes.

Check out the video and come back to let me know if it’s really as offensive as people make it out to be, or if all this uproar is a gross exaggeration.
