A woman currently living in Silver City, New Mexico, strongly believes that the image of Jesus made an appearance in the form of a toe bruise she accidentally got, and says that, should they take the time to look close enough, others can see it as well.

Talking to the press, the woman detailed that she got the bruise last weekend, when she accidentally fell down a flight of stairs and injured herself pretty badly.

Other people would have gone to a doctor's office to ask for help. Paula Osuna, as this woman is named, did no such thing.

On the contrary, she spent some days waiting for the pain to subside, and then, when she realized that her toe injury might require actual treatment, she asked her fiancé to rub some dirt on her foot.

The dirt that the woman used to treat herself was not the kind that one finds in one's backyard while doing some digging to plant daisies.

Thus, it was holy dirt that Paula Osuna and her husband-to-be had brought home all the way from Chimayo, New Mexico, Huffington Post reports.

More precisely, it was dirt taken from the back room of a church dubbed El Santuario de Chimayó, and therefore quite effective at treating injuries.

The day after her fiancé rubbed her foot with this holy dirt and folded it in bandages, the woman decided to take a look at her bruised toe and see whether or not the peculiar treatment had had any effect.

It turns out it did. Specifically, the dirt had somehow gotten the bruise to take the shape of Jesus Christ.

Interestingly enough, Paula Osuna did not come to this realization by herself, but only figured out why her bruise looked so familiar after relatives drew her attention to the similarity between the injury and the image of Jesus.

A picture of the bruised toe is available next to this article, so one can decide for themselves if Paula Osuna is right in claiming that Jesus appeared in this injury of hers.
