According to the latest results from the Billboard album chart, 'oldies' like Bob Dylan and his 'Modern Times' reached the number one spot, within a single week of its release. The man - who, a while ago, said that not only does modern music suck but also his own, when recorded on a CD - showed pop babes Jessica Simpson and Christina Aguilera that he is still The Man.
'Modern Times' became the best selling album this past week, with 192,000 units, thus becoming his fist number one material since 'Desire', released in 1976.
Danity Kane, Diddy's manufactured girls-band, with their self-titled album, slipped from the number one position to the second, selling 117,000 copies of their debut album.
The debutant rapper Young Dro, with 'Best Thang Smokin'', came in third, selling 104,000 items, while Christina Aguilera's 'Back to Basics' went down one spot to number four, with 101,000 copies. Unfortunately, Jessica Simpson's first album since her mediated divorce from Nick Lachey, 'A Public Affair' came in fifth, with 101,000 items sold. Nevertheless, it is still the highest charting she ever got in her entire career.
