Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson will probably tie the knot on New Year’s Eve, says report

Newly engaged Jessica Simpson and fiancé Eric Johnson spent Christmas with her family, with the singer taking to Twitter afterwards to share her happiness with her fans. As she’s doing so, talk of a possible wedding on New Year’s is picking up.

As Radar Online points out, after Christmas with the love of her life and her family, Jessica was on Twitter, gushing about the “three new studs” in her life.

Since confirmation of her engagement came as a bit of a shock, it wouldn’t be that much of a surprise if she actually went and got married on the night in between years, word in the blogosphere has it.

For what it’s worth, Jess and Eric have not announced a wedding date, saying at the time they confirmed their engagement they were still “busy” trying to take the reality of their commitment in.

“Eric is the perfect addition to our family!” Simpson tweeted over Christmas. Not only was she happy, but she wished the same onto her fans. “I’m so grateful this holiday season!!! I hope everyone had a magical Christmas! Love you X,” she wrote.

“We are lucky to have 3 new studs in the fam: Pete, BX, and EJ!” she wrote later, referring to Pete Wentz, her brother-in-law, her nephew Bronx and her fiancé. “Oh and I can’t forget Bentley!!!” she added, speaking of her new dog.

While she’s yet to announce a wedding date, amidst reports that she had Eric sign a prenup (since she’s the most successful celebrity designer of the moment), it could very well be that she’ll be married a couple of days from now.

This blogger certainly seems to think so.

“I’ve been wondering and theorizing that Jessica and Eric would marry on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day. I’m not feeling as ‘this is definitely going to happen,’ but I’m giving this a ‘very solid possibility’ as far as gossip goes,” Kaiser of CB writes.

“After all, Jessica and Eric officially got engaged on 11/11 - why not marry on 1/1/11? It could totally be on. We’ll see,” Kaiser adds.
