After last year’s infamous “fat-gate,” when many media outlets and most celebrity bloggers targeted Jessica Simpson for her heavier figure, the star is again in the headlines for apparently gaining even more weight. The other day, Jessica was photographed at a charity event, dressed in a very tight-fitting dress that seemed to reveal she’d gained
a bit more weight. Either that, or she’s pregnant, celebrity bloggers are saying, as
E! Online informs.
The singer, actress and designer is clearly no stranger to controversy of this type, though that’s not to say it’s warranted, the e-zine points out.
“Blogs and gossip sites are on fire once again, asking if Jessica’s barely there belly bump is actually a baby and once again questioning her curvy ‘new’ figure,” E! writes.
Indeed, a single glance over celebrity blogs is enough to see how Simpson’s apparent weight gain is being criticized and analyzed from all sides. At best, only a few say that she chose a very ill fitting dress.
However, fans should not pay attention to all this, and instead note that, if anything, a few extra pounds on Jessica not only look good but are also indicative of the fact that she’s happy in her love life.
“We’ll leave the digs aside – maybe the knee-length dress is just a tad ill fitting. Jess looks good curvy, and seems she simply puts on a few when she’s in love. The ‘09 chili pics were taken when she was happily dating Dallas quarterback Tony Romo, after all,” says E!
“She was a full-figured brunette when she was dating John Mayer. Now she’s gaga for former San Francisco 49ers tight end Eric Johnson and it shows. But she was at her Daisy Duke thinnest when she was
unhappily married to Nick Lachey, so let’s take it as a sign she’s healthy and well,” the publication goes on to say.
Come to think of it, Jessica herself has long said that she’s come to terms with the idea she will never look as thin as she did when she was 20 and that’s because her focus now is on being herself – not being a model.
Jessica Simpson is 30 years old and, by all accounts, she’s
healthier, happier and more confident than ever. Whether she weighs a few pounds more than she did a few weeks ago should not matter in the end.
