Jessica Simpson Interested in Adopting A Child

Publicist Rob Shuter confirms rumors about a possible adoption made by Jessica Simpson. Being asked when would be set the process of adoption, Rob says: "Nothing has been finalized yet, she is exploring options".

Jessica divorced her husband Nick Lachey in December, since then making known officially her will to adopt a child, to have someone to care, to "touch in special ways". Angelina Jolie is admired by Simpson, who states: "I think Angeline Jolie has done amazing, amazing things, and the international adoption rate just since her has skyrocketed. It's unbelievable."

Jessica is known to have great sympathy for orphans, Shuter saying that in past years the star contributed anonymously to Mexican orphanages. Simpson's devotion to orphans dates since she was 11 years old, visiting for the first time an orphanage with a church group.

"Teen People" magazine joined Jessica in 2000 on a visit to the Casa Hogar Elim, an orphanage in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. At that time the singer-actress declared for the magazine: "Anything to help kids, I'll do it. I want people to know that about me. We were dying for a Mustang or a Tommy Hilfiger shirt. These kids were dying to eat the next day. IT put everything in perspective."
