Now that Jessica Simpson has finally confirmed that she's expecting her first child with fiance Eric Johnson, the tabloids and celebrity glossies have other things to speculate about. One of them would be the wedding date.

In a recent interview, the fashion mogul said that she and Eric never set a date and, as such, are in no hurry to tie the knot.

People magazine has spoken to several sources close to Simpson and they all confirm that she and Eric will most likely be tying the knot shortly after the child is born.

Moreover, they say, the pregnancy wasn't planned, contrary to what some media reports might say.

“They're both still really committed to getting married, and were both really into making decisions about what kind of wedding they wanted,” says one such source, adding that the wedding was initially planned for this month.

Since they're busy now preparing to become parents, Jess and Eric have decided to postpone the nuptials until at least after the child is born.

“It's just going to be at a later date now [because] they really want to enjoy this time in their lives,” the insider stresses.

As expected, the two are over the moon at the idea they will become parents soon – word online has it Jessica is likely due in February or so.

“They're really excited. It wasn't something they planned per se, but it's also not something they were trying to avoid,” another insider says for the same publication.

People also sets the record straight on rumors that Jessica is expecting a baby girl and is thrilled thinking she'll have a daughter soon: they don't know the sex of the baby yet, a source informs.

They're not in a rush to find out either, says the spy, because they will be happy with either a son or a daughter, as long as it's healthy.
