14 DAY TRIAL // When Beyonce gave birth earlier this year and word got out in the press that she had actually “rented” the entire hospital wing and maternity ward, there was a lot of talk about the lengths celebrities would go to to protect their privacy. Jessica Simpson is about to top that.
A new report in InTouch Weekly claims that, now that her due date is nearing, the star is beginning to have panic attacks thinking that someone might want to kidnap her daughter, or leak details about the birth to the press.
As such, Jessica is willing to spend an estimated $2 million (€1.49 million) to make sure everything goes smoothly when she delivers her first child, a baby girls she's believed to have already named Maxwell, Maxi for short.
“Jessica has rented out an entire wing of the hospital (approximately $500,000 / €374,559.8 in cost) so that she can give birth in private,” InTouch writes.
That's just the tip of the iceberg, the report claims.
Jessica will also be hiring extra security and will make sure every visitor, be they family or friends, will be screened before allowed access to her and her daughter.
The security detail alone, consisting of about 30 armed guards, will cost Simpson an estimated $1,318,500 (€987,714.436), claims the mag.
“She’s turning the maternity ward into Fort Knox. If her friends and family want to visit her, they’ll have to make it through numerous checkpoints!” an insider is quoted as saying.
“She’s terrified of kidnapping. Her head of security just held a pre-birth meeting for her family to brief them on the rules!” the same spy adds.
Even though the amounts mentioned above are not small, Jessica has no reason to worry about money, the report further says: she's already done the math and she believes she can recoup the “investment” in almost no time.
InTouch is obviously referring to selling the first baby pics, for which Jessica believes she could get about $4 million (€2.99 million).
