Jessica Simpson, former teen bombshell, pop singer, country singer, actress and television personality, is looking up to the First Lady as a role model. In attendance at the White House Correspondents’ dinner in Washington, DC, Simpson said her presence there was meant to celebrate Michelle Obama and everything she’s done so far, as People magazine can confirm.

The dinner was like the Oscars of politics, as comedian Bill Maher put it, with stars from both music and film in attendance. From teen heartthrob Justin Bieber, to silver screen stunner Scarlett Johansson, “Entourage” star Adrian Grenier and American Idol host and radio personality Ryan Seacrest, the venue was literally packed with everyone who’s anyone in showbiz right now. Still, the biggest stars of all remained the President and his gorgeous wife.

“Jessica Simpson is a singer, actress and reality star, but now she has a new goal: She wants to be Michelle Obama. ‘I really do,’ Simpson told People before the White House Correspondents’ dinner in Washington, D.C., Saturday. ‘She’s such an incredible woman, and she’s with such a powerful man’,” People magazine writes, citing Simpson herself, after catching up with her on the red carpet.

“What does Simpson admire most about the First Lady? ‘Everything she does she exudes confidence,’ says the singer. ‘I’m really just here to celebrate her.’ Simpson was just one among many celebrities who came out for the annual event and mingled at the packed pre-party. Other starts included [SATC] star Kristin Davis, Michael Douglas and Bradley Cooper,” the same publication goes on to say.

Though she admires Mrs. Obama, among other things, for being the partner of such a powerful man as the President, Jessica’s ideal man could actually be the opposite of that, from what she was saying in an interview last year. Contrary to what people may think of her, she is the kind of person that gets bored very easily, so the qualities she’s looking for in a partner include being intelligent, well read and, if possible, an artist passionate about his art.
