Jessica Simpson is the latest spokesperson for Weight Watchers, under a deal that will make her a reported $4 million (€3.1 million) richer and help her lose the pregnancy weight. Even so, she’s also considered going under the knife to bounce back into shape.

The fashion designer and television personality gave birth to her first child in May, having already unveiled her post-pregnancy figure last month.

She says she’s down to the final 10 pounds (4.5 kg) before she gets to the weight she had before she became pregnant, for which she credits Weight Watchers.

However, what she’s not saying is that she also considered surgery to help her shift the extra weight, Radar Online writes, citing an unnamed but reportedly reliable source.

“After having her daughter Maxwell, Jessica felt there was no way she could ever lose the weight on her own because she has struggled so much in the past and her post partum weight seemed to be growing,” says the spy.

“So like a true Hollywood girl, she sought out a quick surgical fix – lap band surgery!” adds the tipster.

The only reason she didn’t go under the knife is because two different doctors turned her down, and her friends insisted it wasn’t the right thing to do.

“Health experts wisely advised the Dukes of Hazzard star that a quick fix wasn’t the answer following the May 1 birth, and after seeking out two different doctors for opinions, ‘she was persuaded to keep pushing to do it the natural way,’ said her pal,” Radar says.

So Jessica has decided to lose weight the natural way, by working out and keeping to her Weight Watchers diet.

“She has had to deal with the blues in the past. So everyone was thrilled that she has avoided PPD. With the doctors’ words and her friends’ encouragement, she is finally shedding the pounds without surgery!” the pal enthuses.

As noted above, Jessica boasts of already bouncing to her pre-pregnancy weight (almost) so, in the end, it’s perhaps a good idea that she’s not resorted to surgery.
