The Texan-born singer and actress has attended the premiere of her movie The Dukes of Hazzard in London's Leicester Square, but unfortunately for the fans, she left her character's tiny hotpants, which measure just 10 inches from top to bottom, at home.
Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott joined her at the premiere of the movie, which opens nationwide on August 24.
Dressed in a full length gown, Simpson said she couldn't have walked the red carpet as Daisy Duke.
The 25-year-old star, who has worked out for more than two hours a day, six days a week to prepare for the role, told reporters that she grew up loving Daisy Duke.
She was someone I idolized as a kid so to play her is a dream come true. Me and my cousins played Dukes of Hazzard at home and I was always Daisy.
The singer revealed she was terrified of getting into the tiny hotpants, and even
went on the South Beach Diet for it. I'm definitely shy, so it was definitely acting for me to drop a trench coat and be in a bikini and try to get my cousins out of trouble by using my body.
That was definitely acting, Jessica said.
I'm a big fan of the shorts and I wore them as a kid growing up in Texas.
I think it's great that they are now popular again and that a lot of girls are wearing them because of me.
I don't think there's any girl that couldn't wear the Daisy Duke shorts the actress added.
After this major role, Jessica Simpson will star in a new comedy, Room Service, in which she will play a disinherited heiress working as a chamber maid.
