Though she’s reportedly over the divorce from Nick Lachey, it seems Jessica Simpson is still harboring some harsh feelings, taking a rather cheap and public shot at his girlfriend, Vanessa Minnillo.
Nick and Jessica have ended their 3-year marriage in 2005, without offering a reason for doing so, other than that they decided they would be better off separately.
Word in the tabloid media had it though that Nick had cheated on Jessica with her best friend at the time, Vanessa Minnillo, with whom he’s still romantically involved.
Shortly the divorce confirmation, rumors began to make the rounds that they did not have a prenup and that Nick had taken a lot of Jessica’s money when they split.
A recent piece in
Us Magazine seems to confirm that, by alleging that Jessica herself said so during a recent run-in with Nick and Vanessa.
“Touche! When a surprised Jessica Simpson spotted ex-husband Nick Lachey just three tables away at LA eatery Red O Oct. 21, she had not-so-kind words for his dinner date Vanessa Minnillo, witnesses tell the new Us Weekly,” the mag writes.
“Simpson, 30, (dining with beau Eric Johnson, mom Tina and four other pals) didn’t greet Lachey; instead, an observer tells Us, she angrily told her server: ‘I hope Vanessa likes her clothes because I bought them for her, since Nick took all my money’,” the tab writes.
Even if she tried to play it cool, Jessica was very upset about meeting with Nick and his girlfriend in public so unexpectedly, even if she keeps telling everybody she’s happy with Eric and
she loves him.
Admittedly, the pop star turned fashion designer tried to calm down by downing lots of alcoholic cocktails, but she still was barely able to do so.
“A Simpson confidante adds that the star ‘got nervous’ when Lachey and his love of four years Minnillo, 29, unexpectedly showed up. ‘It was very weird and awkward’,” Us Magazine writes.
“Indeed, another Red O witness tells Us she ‘got really loud and started drinking margaritas and doing shots of tequila’ to deal with her former spouse’s presence,” says the tab.
Jessica’s mother, on the other hand, seemed to have no problem with meeting her ex son-in-law out of blue – and she even went over to say hello, the same publication claims.
