Whether she’s harboring some hard feelings or this is really how she felt all along but never got the chance to say it out loud, Jessica Simpson has recently embarked on an anti-Melrose Place crusade on her Twitter page, People informs. In a new post on her micro-blogging page, the singer unleashes a bitter attack against the show – and quite out of the blue, some believe.

As we reported a while back, Jessica’s younger sister, Ashlee Simpson, was also part of the “Melrose Place” cast until just recently, when producers decided time had come for vixen Violet to say her good-bye and walk out of the picture. Later on, reports emerged that it was Heather Locklear, back on the remake of the popular original show for a brief appearance, who called the shots and had Simpson fired, though confirmation for it never came.

Whichever might be the case, Jessica has something on her mind and she’s letting the entire world hear it. For starters, “Melrose Place” is a dumb show; secondly, the only way in which it managed to get any media attention was because of Ashlee’s presence. That last part alone would warrant speculation that the attack against the series comes precisely because Ashlee has been fired from it, several US media outlets and celebrity bloggers believe.

“CW catching up on MP,” Simpson wrote on her Twitter page over the weekend. The star then goes on to wonder who writes this kind of dumb stuff, only she substitutes the word “dumb” for a term we usually use for number two in the bathroom and that cannot be reproduced here on several considerations. “i have had bad scripts to work with, but this? thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press,” the elder Simpson further adds.

As it happens, it’s uncertain whether Ashlee had any knowledge of Jessica’s intentions as regards the Twitter post. However, judging by her statement accompanying official confirmation that she was out of the show, chances are she knew nothing of it.
