Jessica Simpson took some time from giving thanks with her family to plug her new Christmas album and take part in the yearly Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to perform the first single off it, “My Only Wish.”

She wasn’t the only A-lister there, as AceShowbiz informs, since the event drew countless celebrities, who either sang or took part in the fabulous yearly Parade. But it was Simpson who truly brought the Christmas spirit with her.

“A number of stars and cartoon figures have enlivened Thanksgiving celebration at the Thursday morning, November 25 event of the 84th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City,” AceShowbiz writes.

“From Kanye West and Jessica Simpson to Kung Fu Panda and SpongeBob SquarePants, all lined up to cheer more than two million people who filled the parade route and millions more who watched from home,” the same e-zine notes.

Simpson sang (lip-synched) her brand new single, “My Only Wish,” which she premiered two weeks ago and is included on the album “Happy Christmas,” out in stores since November 23.

“As for newly-engaged Jessica, who was dressed in a wool trench coat, knee high boots and furry ear-muffs, rode on the McCormick float while belting out her track ‘My Only Wish’,” AceShowbiz writes.

While the leading single, “My Only Wish,” drew some criticism for allegedly containing too many similarities to Mariah Carey’s classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” Jessica wants fans to rest assured: she’s coming back on the pop scene.

In a recent interview with Sirius XM Radio, Simpson revealed she had plans of making a pop comeback and had already seen the right people to make it happen.

“I want to make another record, actually. I want to make another pop record. I’m just going to start writing and researching and hopefully work with The-Dream and Tricky again,” the singer said.

“We talked about it so we’ll see what I get in and what I create. Music is definitely my number two priority next to love,” Simpson added, without pinpointing any approximate dates for when that may happen.
