Jessica Simpson Makes Fiancé Eric Johnson Sign a Prenup

Now that we all know she’s worth nearly $1 billion, Jessica Simpson seems to have reconsidered her initial decision of not asking fiancé Eric Johnson to sign a prenup before tying the knot, it has emerged.

Initial reports said that, while she even paid for her engagement ring out of her own pocket, Jess was so head over heels in love with Eric that she even waived away the idea of getting a prenup.

Us Magazine is now reporting that she’s changed her mind about that and, moreover, has already talked to Eric about it and he’s absolutely ok with it because he loves her and has no interest in her money.

“Jessica Simpson’s fiancé Eric Johnson is in it for love – not money. Slamming a tabloid claim to the contrary, a source close to the engaged couple tells Us Magazine that Johnson, 31, ‘is not a gold digger’,” the tab writes.

One unnamed but, as usual, reportedly reliable insider, tells the publication that Jess has already spoken to her man about drawing up a prenuptial contract, and he’s been nothing but supportive about it because he understands why she may be so protective of her hard-earned money.

“There will definitely be a prenup for the pair. Jessica has said she wants one. Jessica and Eric have talked about it,” says the spy for the aforementioned magazine.

“[Eric] understands that there needs to be a prenup. He’s supportive of it,” dishes the same spy. After all, only in 2010 alone, Simpson made an estimated $750 million with her fashion brand and sales are expected to grow even more in the next couple of years, as we also noted the other day.

“He really loves her. He’s a low key guy. He’s not into the glitz and materialism of Hollywood at all,” the same source says when asked about how come Eric has been so compliant about the prenup idea.

Jess and Eric became engaged on November 11 (he reportedly proposed to her at 11:11 on 11,11, 2010) but, as of now, they’ve not yet announced a wedding date.
