Trust Jessica Simpson to find something to cry about in her own sister's happiness. However, given the amount of attention the spoiled singer has been getting from her family - and especially her father, manager and universal do-gooder Joe Simpson - Jessica is bound to suffer from some sort of attention deficit whenever the eyes of the world stray from her blond locks and nice boobs and are fixed on someone else in her entourage - in this case, her sister Ashlee. Despite trying to kick-start a mainstream singing career, Ashlee has always pretty much stayed in Jessica's shadow, up until her older sister abandoned singing and focused on ruining, that is starring in ridiculous movies the likes of "Blond Ambition" or "Employee of the Month". And now that Ashlee is pregnant and planning her wedding, Jess' frustration is bound to be mounting.
"Jessica never imagined that her tom-boy younger sister would have a baby first," a family insider explains to OK! magazine. "It would be very hard for her not to be jealous. Jessica couldn't be happier for her sister but still can't help feeling jealous. She'd love to be planning a wedding with a baby on the way," the same source adds. Looks like Jess will have to hide away her pain and disappointment and try to at least look if not genuinely feel happy for her little sister - whose pregnancy is now one of Hollywood's worst-kept secrets. Despite initially denying her pregnancy, Ashlee changed tactics yesterday, and during an interview with MTV (given after taping TRL in New York) she simply stated that there are "some things you want to keep personal".
According to several sources cited both by OK! and by People, Ashlee is planning to have her wedding next month at a friend's house in La Jolla, Calif., North of San Diego - the idea being that she wants to get married before her pregnancy really starts to show. "Ashlee would like to walk down the aisle before she's showing - although she's very cute the way she's always checking out her belly now and asking everyone, 'am I showing yet?'," a friend of the singer's previously revealed to OK!. So it looks like there could be double trouble for Jessica, who will have to deal with the spotlight being directed mainly at her younger sister for months to come.
