Jessica Simpson graces the cover of the latest issue of Elle magazine in all her pregnant glory. As we also reported a couple of days ago, the same issue also brings an interview with the expectant mommy and a beautiful photospread.

The star has already confirmed that she's having a baby girl. More excerpts from the interview reveal that Jessica is actually worried her daughter will be as athletic as her father, her fiancé Eric Johnson.

Jessica has always been a girls' girl, one that loves fashion, shopping, dressing up and hanging out with the other girls.

She says she'd hate it if her daughter weren't like that.

“Ah swear, ah will croak if she asks me for a pair of Nikes instead of Christian Louboutins!” Jessica says laughing.

Coming from the woman who said she would be giving birth in Louboutins because it's more chic like that, the statement hardly comes as a surprise.

“Eric is so athletic. We’re gonna have this ath-a-letic girl and I won’t even be able to take her shopping, ’cause all she’s gonna want is sports bras and Nikes!” she adds.

Of course, all jokes aside, Jessica only wants her child to be healthy, athletic or girlie.

In the same interview, she also talks a bit about the negative media attention she's been getting ever since she shot to international fame and how it never brought her down.

She knew from the start how she didn't want to be, so that kept her grounded, she explains.

“I’m still standin’. I grew up very strong! You know, my father used to be an adolescent therapist. I remember sitting at his office, watching the girls walkin’ in and out. Kids doin’ coke at 16… heroin. Pregnant at 14. I could see what I didn’t want to be,” Jessica says.

Jessica and Eric are engaged. They will reportedly be tying the knot after their child is born, which should happen sometime this month.
