Shortly after she announced she was pregnant with her first child by fiancé Eric Johnson, Jessica Simpson joked that she loved heels so much she would probably give birth in sky-scraping YSL pumps. She's changed her mind ever since.

Us Weekly reports that, on a recent shopping trip, Jessica was overheard telling friends that she had one more month of pregnancy to go and could no longer wear high heels.

She reportedly said that she was very saddened by it because she loved high shoes more than anything else, but she had no other choice: her body no longer allowed her to indulge in her love of them.

“Only one month to go!” Jessica told her friend, excited and eager at the same time.

“I can’t wear heels anymore. I tried but it was too hard. Wearing heels is like a religion to me, so it’s tough!” she lamented, the aforementioned celebrity magazine informs.

Jessica also eyed a pair of skinny jeans, admittedly to motivate her to work harder to get her body back after she gives birth to her daughter.

In the end, though, she bought clothes for the child.

“The heavily pregnant star was already plotting her post-pregnancy body goal, eyeing a slim pair of Elliot jeans as she blew big bubbles with her gum,” Us says.

“Cheerful if seemingly exhausted, she chugged Fiji water as she shopped – and while she couldn’t buy clothes for herself, she picked up some togs for her little girl at the Ron Robinson store. Simpson snapped up bloomers, shirts from Le Petit Bateau and a polka dot dress,” adds the same publication.

Jessica and Eric were engaged at the time they found out they were expecting. Though initially planning a wedding, they decided to wait for the child to be born and only afterwards get married.

The pop star turned successful businesswoman is due this spring; in late April, if the above report is one hundred percent accurate.
