Jessica Simpson Is Really Cheap

- "Charity" is not a word in Jessica's dictionary

By: Monica Gaza, Entertainment News Editor

Useless to say, this particular piece of news has the potential to make even the most ardent and loving Jessica Simpson fans have doubts about the charitable nature of their blonde idol. As for us plain old Jessica haters (OK, "hater" is a strong word – let's go with "Jessica Simpson critics"), this is just a little juicy something to make us feel even more resentful towards the champion of break-ups and dumb remarks made in public, on a very loud voice.

It seems that the failed actress, currently back-to-her-roots pop singer is in Kuwait, set to perform in "Operation MySpace" - one of the initiatives meant to bring a little color in the otherwise grim and dangerous lives of American troops currently serving in the Gulf. There are however some nasty rumors that simply won't go away and according to which that is not quite the charitable initiative it's cracked up to be. After all, how could this be all about bringing joy to the troops when in fact Jess and her staff (or"entourage" as she likes to call it) asked to be flown in on private plane – a little ride worth about $150,000.

It was also reported that the blonde bombshell won't be living the hard army life for one second. "Jessica doesn’t sleep in tents or bunks the night before a concert. She needs to give a good performance — there’s no way Joe will want The Pussycat Dolls [who are also on board for the same show] to upstage his daughter. He’ll have her sleeping in a proper bed in the right environment", a source reports. Now that DOES sound just like the Simpsons – pointlessly arrogant and short-sighted.

Moreover, her stylists and make-up artists reportedly refused to cut back their costs in order to make for a real charity show. Ken Paves – who is at Simpson's side every day in order to make her hair look... ahem, gorgeous, charges no less than $10k per day – and is not giving any of it up. "This isn’t a charity show. The people around Jessica aren’t donating their time or cutting their rates as if this was Jess’s charity "Operation Smile". Someone is picking up the tab, and it’s not going to be Jessica", another source adds. Well, of course it's won't be Jessica – seeing how the blonde diva's career has been in a nosedive recently, I doubt she would have enough money to pay herself. Talk about irony...
