Jessica Simpson Is Pregnant with First Child

After months of being tabloid fodder for her weight gain, here comes a new report that may explain why Jessica Simpson has been looking curvier than usual in recent weeks: she is pregnant with her first child, by fiancé Eric Johnson.

Word of this started to make the rounds earlier this week, when, on vacation with her family, Jessica was the only one who didn’t want to slip into a bathing suit and go for a dip, choosing instead to cover herself in loose-fitting, long-sleeved tops.

InTouch can now confirm that, indeed, the singer and actress is pregnant with her first child, but official confirmation from Jess herself is yet to come.

“The 31-year-old singer recently attended the 32nd birthday party of her fiancé, Eric Johnson, where she sent back her glass of champagne for a birthday toast. As it turns out, the pair has something even better to celebrate,” the magazine writes.

The usually unnamed insider confirms for InTouch that Jessica is with child, saying she’ll probably make the official announcement herself in the following weeks.

“She’s already having kooky cravings!” another spy says. These include “nacho chips dipped in chocolate – ‘which satisfy her urge for salty and sweet’ – cheese-flavored popcorn and non-alcoholic margaritas,” the magazine writes.

The report further says that the wedding is still on for November, though Jessica is already thinking about how she can alter her wedding dress to fit the bump yet still look as good as before.

“While it’s true that not everyone would consider the timing ideal, the friend says the couple considers the baby to be ‘the best wedding gift ever.’ Luckily, she’s not due ’til spring, leaving them just enough time to be newlyweds before new parents,” InTouch further writes.

At the same time, a blind item in Blind Gossip seems to hint that, indeed, Jessica and Eric are expecting – and to confirm all of the above.

It even says that Jessica is seven weeks along and that she plans to announce the pregnancy ASAP because she doesn’t want people to speculate on her weigh any longer.
