Jessica Simpson And Nick Lachey Finally Split

The official announcement was made. The 'Newlyweds' go on separate ways. The marriage lasted for three years, and it seems the two got tired of trying to fix things and called it off.

The statement given to US Weekly reads as follows:

"After three years of marriage, and careful thought and consideration, we have decided to part ways.
This is the mutual decision of two people with an enormous amount of respect and admiration for each other. We hope that you respect our privacy during this difficult time."

The news broke through only days after rumors regarding Jessica's possible pregnancy.
But it seems the long periods apart and constant speculation about alleged infidelity on both sides proved stronger.

The last attempt to patch things up was the Italy romantic trip they were planning a while ago. As Pearlman, the pair's spokesman, told America's Star magazine, ""Timmons says Nick told him, 'My marriage is shaky right now. I'm hoping this trip will turn things around. This trip could be a second honeymoon - or preparation for a divorce. '"
