Jessica Simpson's Dad Is a Power-Hungry Matchmaker

Jessica Simpson is taking over the world...well, not really, but this is my second article on her today (sort of) and already I'm starting to feel scared. Is she, like, the new Britney? Just when I thought there was at last some good old-fashioned peace and quiet on the dumb blonde front. But this time, at least, it's good news for Jessica - and I'm writing this article mainly to show you that this beautiful and classy lady can make the headlines for more than just being a spoiled brat with a superiority complex and not enough brains to fill an egg-cup.

Jessica Simpson is actually a very happy woman. In fact, she's got a new man - well, old flame in fact, but enough with the technicalities - and her budding new romance is all down to her dad's matchmaking skills. The 'Dukes of Hazzard' actress was set up on a date with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo by her dad Joe, after he realized the pair were perfect for each other. Um, just a tiny question here: how exactly did papa Simpson realize the two lovebirds are perfect for one another? Do they use the same hair products? Same underwear? I really have to investigate the issue, as it's making me extremely curious.

"Joe and Tony have been friendly for a while. Joe is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, and Tony has always had a crush on her - he even said on his website about a year ago that it was his dream to date her", a source close to Jessica told the New York Post newspaper. "Jessica has been in Nashville and Dallas recording her new country album. When Tony found out, he called Joe and said, 'I know she's not dating anyone right now, can I take her out for a drink at least?' Jessica said it was OK for Joe to give Tony her number and they hit it off. They've been dating for a couple of weeks now, and Jessica is so happy. She's been texting everyone about how great he is".

The new couple had Thanksgiving dinner with around 25 friends and family in the exclusive Dragonfly restaurant in Dallas, before Tony helped the Cowboys win their game against the New York Jets - no doubt inspired by his newfound love for Jessica. But before you start thinking that these two will soon be walking off into the sunset hand in hand, get this: this wasn't the first time Joe has set up his daughter. He has previously been spotted giving out busty Jessica's number to attractive men at parties. Isn't there a name for this activity? Except whoring out your daughter, that is?
