Lea Michele may be the biggest star to come out of the musical hit series “Glee,” but a large chunk of celebrity bloggers and pundits can’t stand her and think she’s the most annoying, try-hard celebrity of the younger generation. To them, the video below is like a godsend.

The singer slash actress came out for a special screening of the hit FX show “American Horror Story: Freak Show” at the TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, and in between posing for the paparazzi as if her life depended on it, she actually had the misfortune to be snubbed on the red carpet by actress Jessica Lange.

That sound you’re hearing right now is the sound of thousands of “haters” ROFL-ing. You have been warned.

A snub from a bigger celebrity is the biggest red carpet faux pas ever

Before you proceed to the video, let us make one very important clarification: it might seem like Lea is busting her well-toned backside to pose for the paparazzi, but this is actually what happens on every red carpet with a more or less big turnout.

Depending on the number of photographers at the event, a celebrity is given a number of minutes they must pose for. Of course, if the celebrity is an A-list who can afford to skip playing the fame game, they can refuse to pose for that much time, or they can even skip the red carpet altogether.

Lea is not A-list yet, and even if she were, she would probably still do it because, let’s face it, the girl likes the attention. Few others wouldn’t.

So, if you listen carefully, you can actually hear the photographer yelling instructions back at Lea, telling her to do this or that pose, or face in a certain direction. So she turns to the left and right, looks over the shoulder, flips her hair, shows off her leg, makes faces, smiles, and pouts, as she’s instructed.

Then, right past the 1-minute mark, she sees Jessica Lange coming towards her and she makes the mistake of assuming that Lange, a veteran actress who also “just happens” to be the real star of “American Horror Story,” would know who she is and, as such, linger around to exchange pleasantries.

Lange either doesn’t know Lea or she really didn’t care about all that, because she just walks past her, leaving her with her “Hi” and her smile frozen on her face. Luckily for Lea, she recovered soon enough and continued doing her stuff, so she downplayed the embarrassment.

Still, in the history of red carpet snubs, this has got to be the one that stung the snubee the most.

Don’t worry, Lea will recover

Right now, celebrity bloggers and other commenters are having a blast online at Lea’s expense. Some are even saying that this should serve as some kind of lesson for her, showing her her true value and why it’s never a good idea to act as if you’re the hottest thing around since sliced bread.

Because there’s always Jessica Lange there to put you back into your place – and she doesn’t even have to lift a finger for it. To put it differently, Mrs. Lange has won the Internet.

You shouldn’t worry, though: there are far more serious things that could have happened to Lea in public, so it’s not like this will cost her anything in the long run. Haters may hate as they please, but the reality remains that Lea Michele is (probably) going nowhere, even after “Glee” ends: she’s got enough talent to build a career off the momentum of the show.

Speaking of careers, look out for Lea in the finale season of “Sons of Anarchy,” on which she plays a waitress. It’s bound to be the exact opposite of the role she had on “Glee.”

If you feel like you’re in no mood to watch an entire video of Lea posing for the cameras, here’s the GIF of the snub. It is, as they say, priceless.
