It’s hard to always be in the spotlight, because you have to look good at all times. Jessica Alba, who once admitted she cried because she couldn’t lose the pregnancy weight fast enough, is now reconciled with the idea that motherhood changes the body in many ways. The actress, who is now heavily pregnant with her second child, is featured in the latest issue of
Allure magazine, where she touches upon a wide range of topics, including her body, being a celebrity mom and how she feels now that she’s nearing her 30th birthday.
Speaking of how pregnancy has been changing her body, Jessica reveals she no longer fusses over the weight gain, choosing instead to embrace her curves, no matter if they’re temporary or not.
“I can’t ever get down to the weight I was before I had Honor. My body’s just different,” the stunner tells the mag.
“The jeans just sort of zip up differently, and things hang differently. It’s a miracle what happens, but you definitely are different afterward. Unless you’re Gisele,” Jessica adds.
Besides teaching her to embrace her curves and love her body, becoming a mother has also helped her discover her womanhood – and that’s no small trifle, she says.
“I saw how incredible and amazing it is to be a woman and to be able to create a life. There’s a reason why certain areas of the body are desirable – because it all leads to reproduction. There’s a science behind it all,” Alba says.
She then goes on to talk about the interest paparazzi are taking in her and her baby bump and how she can hardly go out to run errands without being papped.
As for claims that she peaked some years ago and is now no longer a stunner, Alba shrugs it off with a smile.
“According to some people, I peaked in my early 20s. I was like, ‘Oh, really? I feel like I’m getting better’,” she says.
