It’s been quite a while since the public got to see stunner Jessica Alba rocking the red carpet but, in the end, this long hiatus only made her fans appreciate her latest appearance even more. The new mom was at the Declare Yourself “A New Birth of Citizenship” Inauguration Kick-off event, held at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington this past weekend, and she made sure her presence would not go unnoticed.

Dressed in a champagne short dress, matched with black tights, the actress was the picture perfect of sophistication and elegance, especially as this was also the first time she came out in public with her new banged hairdo. All eyes were on Jessica and husband Cash Warren, as this was one of their most mediated public appearances since she gave birth to daughter Honor in June 2008.

As it turned out, Jessica was worthy of all the attention, as she positively shined on the red carpet. While keeping it simple in the two-color outfit, she knew that such a severe combination of champagne and black would not fail to send off a message of pure elegance and class. The banged ‘do also went perfectly with chandelier earrings, in the same color as the mini dress, which, in turn, contrasted with the aggressive black nail polish.

Proving that motherhood has indeed changed her in more ways than one, and that she is now more mature and able to get involved in activities that would have, some other time, left her completely indifferent, Jessica also held a political-themed speech during the event. In it, she stressed the importance of the Declare Yourself organization for which she was also a spokesperson more than once in raising awareness on the importance of voting.

“I believe that every organization that was trying to get people to vote and get people to register that never had before, whether it was the youth, whether it was just new voters, people who didn’t believe in the system, this campaign and all the other campaigns – they believe now. They made a difference.” Jessica said.
