Fathers are always too overprotective when it comes to their little daughters. But, if your daughter is worth millions of dollars and her ex husband might get a good share of that money, you do everything that you can to stop him.

Rumor has it that Joe Simpson, who has never been a favorite of the paparazzi, bullied a club owner into giving him full access to security video tapes.

In a nutshell, Nick Lachey was seen in the establishment on a few occasions and nosy Joe wanted to see what he'd been up to while in there.

So, he told the owner that, if he ever wants to see Jessica cross his threshold, he will let him see the security tapes. Seeing his hand forced this way, the owner agreed and, later on, told the press that Jessica's father is currently trying to gather up evidence that Nick cheated on her prior to their divorce.

If he manages to do that, then Lachey might lose his chance of getting a percentage of Jessica's large fortune.

The Simpson family declined to make any comment, but Joe said that the rumors are completely unfounded.
