14 DAY TRIAL // As the ABC’s Nightline teaser also says, Jesse James broke Sandra Bullock’s heart when the media caught wind of his many affairs behind her back and how he’d been lying for her for years. Though he’s usually very cool and collected, which goes perfectly with his bad-boy image, during this particular interview, James not only sheds a few tears but even asks for a short break to get a grip on himself, overwhelmed by emotion as he is.
Talking about his affairs and how he single-handedly ruined the beautiful relationship he had with the Oscar-winning actress must have been hard for James, People magazine says (and the video embedded at the end of the article can confirm it). It’s not for nothing that people call him the most hated man in America, though Jesse would actually venture as far as saying that he must be the most hated man in the world for how he behaved.
“Jesse James breaks down in tears as he finally speaks publicly about the demise of his marriage to Sandra Bullock. ‘I took a pretty amazing life and marriage... and threw it away,’ James says in a promo clip of his interview with ABC News’ Nightline. […] James, 41, admits to cheating on Bullock and says his actions – including allegations of affairs with multiple women – have made him ‘The most hated man in the world.’ At one point, he’s so overcome by emotion, he walks away from the interview,” People writes.
The regret that he’s feeling now has made of him a changed man, the mag goes on to say. “Since the couple’s split, James has spent time in a rehab program and has otherwise maintained a normal schedule at his Los Angeles-area home, where he’s often been seen driving his kids to school. But James is looking to make a change. A source tells People that James has put the house he shared with Bullock up for sale. The motorcycle mogul is eyeing Austin, Texas, as a place to spend more time, according to another source. Bullock has long called Austin a second home,” People further reports.
Though neither James nor Bullock has given any indication that they’re even considering a reconciliation, speculation is building up that this is where things are heading. In this context, this interview with ABC (and others that will most likely follow) would be meant to help him get back in the good graces of the public for when he and Sandra announce they’re giving their marriage another go.
