Season 4 of MTV’s controversial but incredibly popular reality series “Jersey Shore” was supposed to start shooting in Italy in just a few days’ time. However, some members of the cast have yet to sign their contracts and their departure for Italy has been postponed.

As we also informed you a short while ago, some of the cast members of “Jersey Shore” are asking for more money for season 4 than they got for the third one.

The reasoning behind their demand is that there are signs that MTV will not pick up the show for a fifth season, which means this is their chance to make the most of it – and they’re asking for lots of money to do just that.

Since negotiations are still ongoing with some cast members, the scheduled departure for Italy had to be postponed for a whole month, Radar Online has learned.

So far, production is not affected by the ongoing negotiations in any other way than this delay.

But more trouble may be on the way.

“The Jersey Shore’s invasion of Italy has been delayed a month, amid a contract dispute and serious resistance from Italian nightclubs and hotels who won’t allow MTV’s cameras to film the controversial cast in their venues,” Radar writes.

As the saying goes, their reputation precedes them, which explains why clubs would not let the reality stars in to shoot for the series.

“Several of the housemates haven't signed their contracts and until they do, the cast can’t go to Italy. Producers are also having a really difficult time finding venues for the cast to party at too,” a source familiar with the production reveals.

“The cast was meant to leave on April 18, but now with the contact troubles, they won’t be leaving until May,” adds the spy – assuming all salary disputes are settled by then.

“The good news, if there is any, is that producers have chosen one of the prettiest cities in Italy for the cast to live,” the spy underlines.

So far, no comment from MTV.
