For “I Like It,” says report

MTV’s “Jersey Shore” is just one of the many reality series the network has come up with in recent months that generates mixed feelings in audiences. It is, however, the only one that gets severe criticism in the media, while it continues to rise in ratings. According to TMZ, the entire cast of the reality show will now expand their resume a bit more, by appearing in a video for Enrique Iglesias’ latest single, “I Like It.”

The single is the lead song for the latest season of the show, which will also be the last with the current cast, as ongoing reports would have it. It is a collaboration with Pitbull and marks a departure in sound from the kind of music that Enrique used to release, towards a more dance-y one. Oddly enough, there already is an official video for “I Like It,” on the artist’s Vevo channel (see at the end of the article for it), so either Enrique is coming out with a new clip or it’s just to promote the show, therefore not quite a music video.

“The cast of ‘Jersey Shore’ will soon appear on MTV in a format rarely seen on the network these days – a music video... courtesy of Enrique Iglesias. Sources close to ‘The Situation’ tell TMZ that Snooki, Pauly D and the rest of the crew will spend today – their last day in Miami – on the set of the video for ‘I Like It.’ The song, by Enrique Iglesias and featuring rapper Pitbull, appears on Enrique’s new album as well as the ‘Jersey Shore’ soundtrack. Could get interesting... especially because Pitbull won’t hesitate to sock a douchebag in the face,” TMZ writes.

The video could also be a bonus that will be included on the official soundtrack disk, which is scheduled to come out in June, as HitFlix informs. “Just what does the soundtrack to the tanned-and-loving-it brain-erase that is ‘Jersey Shore’ have on it? Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias on lead single ‘I Like It,’ for one, with LMFAO, Taio Cruz and Lil Jon for others. Universal Republic is working in conjunction with MTV in order to manufacture what will surely back your reps at the gym, the trips to the beach, the dances on the bars at the, well, bars. It gets a standard and deluxe version drop on July 20, the latter of which will include the show’s theme song ‘Get Crazy’ from LMFAO,” the e-zine writes.

Whichever may be the case, more on the mystery video shoot is likely to emerge in the following days, so keep an eye on this space for when it does. “I Like It” is the first single off Enrique’s new album, “Euphoria,” his first that will be released in a bilingual edition. Below is the official video.
