Another day, another Facebook scam tricking people to take surveys

Yet another Facebook scam is seen roaming the social media website, this time promising a video of a beaten up TV host. Of course, in the end, all you get is a smudged wall and a lot of spam in your inbox.

Graham Cluley gives us another tip on a usual Facebook scam that ends up serving a pesky survey that allegedly lets you watch the clip.

The message which reads “Jeremy Kyle gets attacked!! Watch as Jeremy Kyle is attacked???” supposedly features the controversial TV host being attacked by someone, probably by a guest or someone in the audience.

Whichever case it may be, if the unsuspecting member clicks on the link that should point to the footage, he is taken to a page that practically forces him to Share and to Like the clip if he wants to view it.

To make it even more attracting, the header of the website reads something like:

This is a warning from the staff, please watch this video at your own risk - we have rated the footage 5 out of a possible 5 for Violence. So please be warned.

Of course you might be tempted to go on, so you click on further until you get to a site that seems to be loading the video, but instead of footage, you get an “age verification” warning that surprisingly offers you a free iPod speaker system or a free trip around the world. Imagine that!

In the end, after completing the study, you end up giving the masterminds behind the scheme the earnings the poll company gives them for redirecting traffic.

Make sure not to fall for these classic scams. You might be tempted to click on the ad the first time you see it, but once you see the survey and the proposition to share the page, you can be sure that all you'll end up with will be a spammed inbox.
