Authorities inform that the publicized affair between 30-year-old math teacher Jeremy Forrest and 15-year-old Megan Stammers was facilitated by her use of Forrest's wife's passport, when traveling to France.

The two had traveled under false names, Forrest presenting himself as Jack Francis Dean, and the student as Emily Forrest, the teacher's wife of 1 year. His first night in France, the man checked in at a two-star hotel under the alias Jack Grant, while his beloved was suspiciously waiting outside the hotel.

“I found a bit strange that he came alone to ask for a room and she stayed outside the entrance,“ hotel owner Eric Augier stated, not knowing about the fact that there was an arrest warrant out for the teacher.

While sending out job applications, the 30-year-old math teacher claimed to be a 28-year-old rock music journalist in his resume, Daily Mail informs.

The amateur musician had visited Bordeaux in 2009, and knew the city quite well. After he took Megan sight-seeing, they checked out local expat bars and posed for photographs in the Place de la Victoire, in the city's historical center, witnesses have said. They were turned in by a waitress at one of these bars, the HMS Victory.

The married 30-year-old is currently in French police custody, awaiting an extradition hearing scheduled for tomorrow. Megan has already been flown back to Britain this weekend, where, against her will, she was reunited with her family.

Forrest's attorney Daniel Lalanne stated that he views deportation as a step towards continuing his relationship with the schoolgirl.

“This is primarily because going home will take him back closer to the one he loves. Jeremy Forrest is in no way a pervert. This is a story only about love and passion... I believe it will never end,” Lalanne said, explaining why his client is not contesting the extradition order.

Witnesses at Forrest's court appearance have described him as “a broken man.” On the other side of the English Channel, Megan's grandfather stated that, upon her return to the UK, she “was bright, happy and seemed her normal self.”
