Jensen Button Bets on Schumacher as Future World Champion

The Briton thinks Ferrari will be stronger than Renault the last 3 races

Michael Schumacher received - if needed - another boost on his title chances. And it came from Englishman Jensen Button, driver for Honda. As far as the Briton is concerned, Ferrari is too strong for the moment to let both the constructors and drivers titles slip away.

"I think the Ferrari is very strong. These three circuits are the sort that might suit them well, and if Bridgestone have got their act together they will be very quick. There is a very good chance that Schumacher could win three in a
row
", said Button for Eurosport, tipping the tyres as key factor in the title race.

As for the driver to win the Formula One this season, Button already knows who to bet on: "I probably would bet on Michael. I think a lot of people would as well, looking at the pace of the Ferrari at the moment. People used to say Kimi Raikkonen was not very quick in Japan and he won last year".

"I really don't think it's going to be a problem for Michael here. He might have had two bad years, for whatever reason, but he should be able to be quick here and he's got the championship at stake", added the Englishman.

Ferrari won 5 of their last 6 races in Formula One and is now top of the table in the constructors' standings. The only race they failed to score more than 10 points was in Hungary, when Schumacher crashed out of the race a few laps before the finish line. He was then 2nd in the race, right behind Button.

As for the Chinese GP this weekend, Schumacher doesn't have too many happy memories about it. He is yet to win a point in Shanghai, while opponent Fernando Alonso won here last year, beating then-rival Kimi Raikkonen by a 4-second margin.

Alonso previously stated that Michael Schumacher will feel the pressure this end of the season, because it will be his last chance to win a Formula One title. "I have many years in front of me, but he only has these 3 next races. So the pressure is all on his shoulders", said Alonso yesterday.
