Former glamor girl Jenny McCarthy and Oscar-nominated comedienne Melissa McCarthy are cousins so, if you pick on one and bully her, you should expect the other to come to her defense. This is precisely what Jenny is doing right now.

After film critic Rex Reed tore Melissa’s new film “Identity Thief” apart while also picking on her weight (“tractor-sized” “female hippo” are just two of the things he called her), Jenny also has a few words for him.

“[Melissa is] very talented and people know that. [Reed] can go to hell,” she says in a recent interview cited by Us Weekly.

“That's obnoxious in itself. For anyone to attack like that, it's just wrong and hurtful, and it doesn't do anyone any good,” Jenny says of the scathing review Reed wrote of the film, which also included the phrase “[McCarthy] has devoted her short career to being obese and obnoxious with equal success.”

In response to criticism, Reed just said that he had too many friends die of obesity-related issues to find obesity used for comedy amusing even in the slightest.
